Back to Bloggin'
August 22, 2011
So yea, I have not been blogging for a while. A long while.I missed the feeling of blogging, too. It is like a toilet for my verbal diarrhea. No, I have not lose my distinctively unusual humor and, yes, I'll try to fully exert my unique humor in my entries.Reader discretion is advised, though.I'm hunting for new blog name as well!I've tried a few in the past, but it all failed miserably like my add math tests back in secondary school. I wonder whether it is a curse or something, a different name that does not involve my original name will never succeed.I got myself a few names years ago-- Esther, Joleen, Lorriane, Haley... They never worked. So I'm back to Yi Jun. Although some of my friends recognized me as Jun.And I got my blog a few names as well-- ... well I couldn't remember but they weren't recognizable. ( so unrecognizable, I could not even remember them)
So I feel like sticking to a title that has my name in it.The current one, "Oops! It is Jun" was kinda inspired by Evon (Thanks!)Going to test it for a few months and see. At the meanwhile, please tell me if you have any suggestions! (If anyone ever read this post...)Evon had some really interesting ideas for me! VERY interesting ideas.*The Words Not Spoken*(Of course lah, a blog post is written mah)*Bedtime Stories*(I like this actually, or a, I just feelin' sleepy?)*OPPS It's Me Again*(Nice one)*Coffee Tea or Me?*(This title is a magnet to perverts and stalkers)*Have a Break, Have a COKE*(Works for my description though)That's about it! Sorry for the abrupt ending. Need to hit the sack :)Leave your suggestions in the comments!God bless.Roared by Jun at 10:16 AM | 0 comment(s) | Email This BlogThis! Share to X Share to Facebook |

I'm Back. Say 'no' to Shark Fin Soup.
February 6, 2011
Greetings! Finally, a blog update! And yes I apologize for this super duper late update. If you're wondering where was I for these days---I'm currently attending a disciple training for 3 months! Having the time of my life!More on that later. Not to forget, Happy CNY people!Gong Xi Fa Cai/Gong Hei Fatt Choi/ Giong Hi Huat Cai(Chinese, Cantonese and Hokkien)For this CNYLet us make a change, take a pledgeSAY NO TO SHARK FIN SOUPWhy?Sharks are being driven to extinction for their finsThe demand for shark fin is so great that, within a few short decades, sharks are being dangerously overfished. Many species are in danger of extinction and shark populations worldwide are disappearing.Guess how many sharks being killed each year? Over 100 million"Sharkfinning" kills the sharks just for finsBecause the primary market for sharks is limited to their fins, many of these sharks are killed just for their fins. In 'sharkfinning', the sharks are caught and their fins are cut off.The rest of the shark is then thrown into the ocean, often while they are still alive. That is not only a terribly cruel practice, but is highly wasteful, which about 95% of the fish being thrown away. They reproduce very slowly too!Yes, sharks ARE important to us. Alive!Isn't it good that sharks are being exterminated? Aren't sharks dangerous to men?No, they are not generally dangerous to men.The media magnifies the very rare incidents where a shark bites a human as if these are common and fearsome occurrences.Fact: Only 5 people in the entire world will die from a shark wound in an average year.Sharks are crucial in maintaining a healthy marine ecosystem too. They help to keep populations of other fish in a healthy proportion since they are on the top of the food chain.Where sharks are eliminated, marine ecosystem loses its balance. The lesson is important. Sharks are being killed for their fins for shark fin soup, a food that has cultural value, but is not important for human survival or health. However, removing the sharks can result in the loss of important foods that we do depend upon for survival. One more thing, sharks have survived for 450 million years, but may be gone within 10 years.Shark Fin Soup is not healthy. IT CAN BE TOXIC!Studies show that shark is among the highest level of toxic mercury that is found in fish. And, that mercury can be very hazardous to our health! The danger of Mercury:- Mental disabilities (fetus)
- Damage central nervous system (adults)
- Lower sperm count and causes sterility (men)
And yes, Mercury is in shark fin and in soup. So, why shark fin soup? Where it isn't beneficial to the ecosystem, nor you.Start from you, influence others, share the informationFrom now on, banquets, weddings or CNY,Take a stand, Take the pledgeSay 'no' to shark fin soup.when the buying stops, the killing stops.Pledge/more info/ source, please visit http://shark.wildaidchina.org/index.phpRoared by Jun at 5:43 AM | 0 comment(s) | Email This BlogThis! Christmas Present 4 You
December 30, 2010
A belated Christmas present for everyone of you that I treasure and loveThe True Meaning of ChristmasIt's that time of year again. December has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas?
For many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. They don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmastime when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons. Turkey dinners may be only a wish and not a reality for some.
Yet, Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. You see, Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. His birth brought great joy to the world. Shepherds, wise men, and angels all shared in the excitement of knowing about this great event. They knew this was no ordinary baby. The prophets had told of His coming hundreds of years before. The star stopped over Bethlehem just to mark the way for those who were looking for this special child.
Luke 2: 4-19 says:
"So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."Why did He come? Why did God send His son to this sometimes cruel and hard world? He sent Jesus to us so that one day, He would grow up to become a very important part of history. His story (history) is one of truth, love, and hope. It brought salvation to all of us. Without Jesus, we would all die in our sins.
Jesus was born so one day the price could be paid for the things we have done that are wrong. The Bible says that all have sinned. We are all born with a sin nature. We do things that do not please God. Through the sins of Adam and Eve, we have all inherited that sin nature. We need to have that removed. The only way is through Jesus. Jesus came so He could die on the cross for ALL of our sins. If we believe that Jesus died for our sins, we can ask Him to come into our hearts and forgive us. Then, we are clean and made whole. We can know that heaven is a place where we can go to when this life is over.
"But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong." I John 1:9
We can truly be happy at Christmas! No matter what may be happening, we can know that we are His children. We then become sons and daughters of God. Heaven will be our home one day.
Look at Christmas in a new way this year. This is the year to invite Jesus into your heart. You will then have a "Merry Christmas." The joy and peace you will receive will last all year as you look to God for all your needs to be met.
Jesus Is The Reason For The Season! Rejoice!

Holidays season = Movies seasonIts undeniable! Dozen and dozen of movies showing lately. Good ones, cheap sounding ones, I-can-tell-its-bad-just-by-looking-at-the-name ones...They are ALL here to celebrate the season of joy!!!!!.... Ok more like peeling our money from our skin.Anyway a good movie is worth a 11 bucks I guess.I was anticipating a few movies, i.e. Harry Potter VII, Narnia, The Social Network etc etc. I was really looking forward to watch HP7!! The reviews were good ;)Since I had been quarantined for SPM for thaaaaaaaaaaat long, my mom 'approved' me to accompany my baby sis to watch Rapunzel A Tangled Tale. Not what I expected but ok lah just follow whatsoever......IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE MOVIE THAT JUST MADE MY YEARI know I could never be let down bu Disney's productions but this is just SO SO great. AHHHHH~~~~~Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale/ TangledThat's a lot of hair!!!!!Why I love this movie so much--Reason 1: RapunzelShe's so lively and realistic. I mean her personality lah, her look is so obviously cartoon-ish. Finally, a princess who isn't always dreaming about Prince Charming! She isn't entirely tough throughout the movie like Belle (Sleeping Beauty) or Jasmine (Aladdin). She is definitely cute and hilarious and pretty!! Lol. Her blonde hair is just soooooooo amazing. I can't stop thinking that she HAS to be the spokesperson of Sunsilk = =See what did I mean? HAIRReason 2: Flynn Rider/ Eugene FitzherbertHe is the most handsome thief I've ever seen. Omgosh how I wish he was a real person. LOL. He's a little cunning and a little vain, but overall I would say he is funny and charming! Haha... Rapunzel is lucky~ And how he is willing to sacrifice for Rapunzel is so touching! How could a thief be so handsome?!? RARRRR @@"They just can't get my nose right!"Just go and watch and you'll know what I meanReason 3: PascalRapunzel's chameleon. Needless to explain, just wait till you see his face!!HAHAHAHAHAHAAnd thisSee how qian bian is his look?!Reason 4: MaximusA kinda stupid and stubborn palace horse who hates Flynn and loves Rapunzel. The chemistry of Max and Flynn is hilarious!!!!He sniffs like a dog. Tell me about multi-talented.See the zhuai yang...Reason 5: The frying panYes. The frying pan. YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE MOVIE TO UNDERSTAND!!!I couldn't remember how many times I laughed because of this frying pan!!!Reason 6: The LanternsNothing more to say. End Malaria
November 4, 2010
This is a message from my all time favourite Youtube makeup guru, Michelle Phan. (pronounce as "Fon". She's a Vietnamese American.)She just hit a huge 1,000,000 subscribers for her channel, which is something great!Michelle is the highest subscribed female youtuber and also the 1st female to hit the 1 million subscribers mark.( Do subscribe! She's awesome!!!)While celebrating her 1 million subscribers success, she never leaves charity behind by calling public's attention to end malaria! So I'm spreading it to you!End Malaria Now.Do you know malaria causes more than 1 million deaths annually?Malaria is a disease of the blood that is caused by a parasite transmitted from person to person by certain types of mosquitoes. Symptoms of Malaria such as fever, vomiting and other flu like symptoms will appear within 9 to 14 days after a bitten by a mosquito.Malaria is particular devastating in Africa, where it kills an African child every 30 seconds. Many children who survive an episode of severe Malaria may suffer from learning impairments or brain damage.Malaria is preventable, however the lack of resources, coupled with a climate very hospitable to the deadliest strain of malaria had made the disease a leading cause of death among the African children.Malaria is preventable and treatable, by giving families and individuals insecticide- treated bed nets to sleep under, kill mosquitoes where they breed and when they enter houses to feed at night, and making anti malarial drugs. Its really sad to know that malaria is absolutely preventable by simply using mosquito nets, yet so many of these children were killed by malaria. So, what are you waiting for?Join the force and stop malaria!!!Donate to Malaria Progress, the special envoy for malaria. They deliver bed nets to families and help the awareness of public towards malaria.Donate/ details: http://www.malariaenvoy.com/Also see:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpnmC3BbvEg (Michelle Phan's malaria awareness video)Or spread the words!! Tell your friends and family, post it on Facebook, twitter, or blog.Let them know how malaria can harm the world and lives and what can we do for it!!Roared by Jun at 4:13 AM | 0 comment(s) | Email This BlogThis!
